NIPÜF completes large-scale land transaction in Tatabánya

OTTO FUCHS to expand in Hungary

A new automotive investment will begin soon in NIPÜF’s industrial park in Tatabánya. The land plot was recently sold by NIPÜF Group to OTTO FUCHS Hungary Kft. OTTO FUCHS has been present in Hungary for more than twenty years and employs 520 people. The 20-hectare land can accommodate industrial buildings up to 100,000 sqm.

2018 was another successful year for state-owned National Industrial Park Management and Development Company (NIPÜF). The NIPÜF Group purchased more than 800 hectares of development land in 14 cities spanning the entire country, delivered over 74,000 sqm of new logistics projects and sold 45 hectares of building plots in total.

The latest transaction was concluded in December. OTTO FUCHS Hungary Kft. purchased 20 hectares out of NIPÜF’s 62-hectare Tatabánya industrial park. OTTO FUCHS, known for its high-quality press-forged aluminum wheels, reached the limits of its production capacity due to massive demand for its products. In order to meet increasing needs, the company decided to further expand its operations. Besides Hungary, the top management looked at several locations in Romania and Slovakia, preparing an in-depth analysis about development opportunities. In addition to cost factors, the expertise, work experience, loyalty and motivation of the employees of the existing Tatabánya plant proved decisive.

„We contacted NIPÜF Zrt. through the Tatabánya local government’s economic development organization. In NIPÜF we found a business partner with market approach in every aspect. Their colleagues responded to all our questions and needs quickly and professionally, keeping our common goal, the development of the local economy in mind. This is one reason we could conclude the agreement about the purchase of the 20-hectare land so promptly”, Tibor Menyhárt, Head of Finance at OTTO FUCHS Hungary Kft. said.

NIPÜF Zrt. acquired 62 hectares along the recently finished Üveggyári street in the newly developed part of Tatabánya-Környe industrial park in 2018. The company will ensure public utility and road connections up to the border of the plot now sold to accommodate Otto Fuchs’s plans. Local zoning allows up to 50 percent building ratio and the maximum building height is 16 meters.

„Developing the national industrial park network entails not only the construction of new industrial facilities, but also the preparation and sale of development land. We have acquired excellent plots in more than a dozen key cities, offering prime opportunities for domestic and international companies for logistics and production purposes. The transaction in Tatabánya is hopefully one of many”, Zsombor Török, CEO of NIPÜF Zrt. said.
